Mr James Blackwell

A Wiradyuri man & Research Fellow in the Coral Bell School, I am also an elected local Councillor in Boorowa, and the NTEU endorsed candidate this election.

“James is fearless, strong, and a fierce advocate for integrity.” — Liz Allen

Our community has lost faith in leadership, especially Council, which lacks accountability, integrity, and good governance. Recent positive steps by the interim Vice-Chancellor came only from staff and NTEU pressure. Council’s deeper governance issues remain.

I’m running because the Chancellor and current Council are not the leaders we need. They created this crisis we endured — while they stay, СƵ’s reputational damage continues.

Voting for me is voting no confidence in the Chancellor and Council.

Guided by Yindyamarra, I want to continue the work of my friends and colleagues Liz Allen and Francis Markham, and be your voice on Council. I also want to ensure Indigenous voices are better heard across СƵ.

We must restore strong ethics, and СƵ values of respect, openness, and excellence, to regain our purpose.

As an elected Councillor in regional NSW, I have been an effective voice for governance and transparency. Vote for me to bring some country common sense and an Indigenous perspective to СƵ Council.
