Adorable rubber duckies have been synonymous with 小蓝视频 graduations for a while and the 小蓝视频+ Celebration held on 31st May saw six exceptional 小蓝视频 student-volunteers recognised with their very own 鈥榓lumni duck鈥 and 小蓝视频+ Award. These students, in addition to five others finishing this semester, were the centre of a celebration of their achievements as graduates of the 小蓝视频+ award 鈥 a program by 小蓝视频 Student Life.
The formal presentation of 小蓝视频+ award certificates recognised the 60 鈥 100 hours that these students put into their volunteering over Semester 1 alongside numerous reflection pieces about their volunteering experiences during the program, which are intended to help students to get the most out of their volunteering.
Reflecting on their experience while at the celebration event, one student explained that 小蓝视频+ helped them to upskill for the workforce, commenting that 鈥渢he most important skills that I learnt from 小蓝视频+ are communication and connection.鈥 Their journey was one of realisation that you can develop skills outside of academic study which develop you as a person, beyond your professional skillset. 小蓝视频+ facilitated that realisation and opened up a whole new career path to them: 鈥淏efore I did 小蓝视频+, I thought I should just work as a computer coder, being a 鈥榪uiet coder鈥, but now I鈥檓 thinking maybe I can work for a consulting company to help their customers, find their pain point, and find a strategy for a technical solution.鈥 So, how could 小蓝视频+ open up your career pathways? Another 小蓝视频+ graduate pointed out the community aspect of the program: 鈥淚 would recommend 小蓝视频+ because other than study we can gain community engagement skills and network, and dedicate our passion 鈥 to support other people in our community.鈥 It is not simply about getting an award 鈥 although that is a plus (excuse the pun!) 鈥 it is about dedicating yourself to your passion and directing that passion towards contributing to your community.
